EPAM top ranked by Chambers Global 2014

EPAM retains its top positions in Chambers Global 2014, one of the most reputable legal rankings. This year the Firm has been recommended for all key practice areas in every jurisdiction of its presence. Additionally, the guide praises the Firm and its experts for their unique international law capacities.

In Russia Chambers Global highly recommends EPAM for Dispute Resolution, Restructuring & Insolvency, M&A and Corporate, Intellectual Property, and Tax.

The Guide traditionally praises the Firm for its top level Dispute Resolution expertise, both in Domestic and International categories. Among experts the Guide acknowledges Dimitry Afanasiev, the member of the Partners' Committee, as “a prominent name with a strong marketplace reputation” who “combines management and client development with an active … practice”. This year Chambers top ranks Dimitry Afanasiev as Russia’s Eminent Practitioner.

Evgeniy Raschevsky, Head of the Firm’s International Arbitration and Litigation Practice, is praised for efficient coordination of “complex matters in a wide range of jurisdictions as well as for representing clients before the ICJ”.

Ilya Nikiforov, Managing Partner at the Firm’s St Petersburg office, is ranked in a honorable Band 1 as “the best-known litigation and arbitration specialist on the market”. “His stellar reputation extends to both international and domestic matters“. He is “particularly skilled at handling IP/IT matters, and has extensive Russian law expertise“.

Partner Dmitry Dyakin is recommended by a variety of sources as an expert who “routinely handles both real estate and corporate disputes”. Having over 12-years of arbitration and litigation experience he “leads many of the Firm's most substantial mandates”.

Chambers Global 2014 recommends Valery Eremenko who is "extremely efficient at handling complex cases" and "very creative in the structuring of deals". The Guide distinguished Valery’s extensive experience in “representing clients before the highest courts in Russia in matters relating to corporate, antitrust, real estate and IP litigation”.

Up-and-comer” Alexander Vaneev, Senior Associate of International Arbitration and Litigation Practice, is named as a leader of teams “advising on cross-border arbitration matters”.

The Firm’s Restructuring & Insolvency Practice is highly recommended while its Partners Sergey Kovalev and Valery Eremenko are named as "the key contacts" when it comes to advising trustees, creditors and debtors.

Chambers praises the Firm for its M&A and Corporate capacities. Eminent Practitioner Dimitry Afanasiev “continues to be a highly visible figure in the market“. Sources see him on "very high-profile deals", where “his wide practice covering international corporate transactions, dispute resolution and public policy is valued“.

EPAM is highly recommended for Intellectual Property. Practice head Pavel Sadovsky is individually recognised as “an experienced litigator with a strong focus on IP enforcement”. He also advises on transactional issues relating to IP and is “recognised for his expertise in the TMT sector“.  

In addition, the Firm’s Tax Practice wins peers’ recognition. "Brilliant" Igor Schikow heads the practice and is commended for his "creative and innovative" advice. "His international background and knowledge of German is appreciated by clients".

In Ukraine EPAM is top ranked for its Corporate and M&A, Banking & Finance, and Dispute Resolution work, with seven lawyers ranked as leaders in their field.

The Guide refers to Serhii Sviriba, Managing Partner of EPAM in Ukraine, as a top dispute resolution practitioner, who has been in Band 1 for a number of years. Serhii Sviriba is “very well plugged into the local market, and knows the nuances extremely well".

Head of Banking & Finance, Capital Markets Practice in Ukraine Roman Stepanenko has been recognised as a "commercial and responsive" lawyer.

Partner Olexiy Reznikov has been recognised as a top litigator and a highly visible individual in Ukraine praised “both for his rainmaking and his legal expertise.”

Chambers Global names Partner Markiyan Kliuchkovskyi “one of the top sports arbitration experts in the market” and “a very reliable lawyer," while Counsel Dmytro Marchukov was praised for his “significant experience of cross-border disputes” and singled out as " phenomenally dedicated, hard-working and organized.”

Head of M&A and Corporate Practice in Ukraine Oksana Ilchenko has been acknowledged as “the principal point of contact.”

The Guide also recommends Partner Ilona Zekely as “the office's key representative for German, Austrian and Swiss clients”.  

Minsk office of EPAM tops the ranking being named number one in Belarus again.

Managing Partner Dennis Turovets is “lauded by peers for his ability to handle mandates in an efficient manner, whilst clients praise his flexible approach to projects”. He led the team that assisted Embraer with public procurement regulations.

Partner and Head of M&A and Corporate Practice in Minsk Anna Rusetskaya is “a common choice for investment projects, particularly those involving foreign entities“. “She is also adept at handling projects with elements of banking and finance law“.
