Yury Nadezhin represents the interests of large Russian and international companies in arbitrazh courts and courts of general jurisdiction on various issues of civil and commercial law, as well as land legislation.

Yury also has considerable experience in the field of legal due diligence, structuring and transaction support, and providing legal support to commercial and non-profit organisations’ business activities.

Yury’s experience highlights include:

  • Providing comprehensive legal support to a client in a dispute with Roskomnadzor and the flagship Russian TV and radio company regarding broadcasting rights on certain channels. As a part of the dispute, several lawsuits were initiated, including the challenging of the results of the competition for the right to terrestrial broadcasting, the actions and decisions of the regulator on termination of the principal's license and the issuance of a license to another person.
  • Representing the interests of a large multi-format retail chain in a dispute with a developer who refused to fulfill a preliminary shared construction agreement. The geography of the conflict included several Russian regions, which required handling parallel court cases in different subjects of the federation.
  • Assisting a group of individuals in a dispute with the largest construction company in St. Petersburg on the quality of the constructed apartment building.
  • Advising the largest Russian infrastructure construction company on a notice of termination of a state contract which included assessing the risk of the permissibility of unilateral refusal and its consequences, as well as the possibilities and prospects of preventing the contract’s termination.
  • Advising on the judicial restoration of the rights of a company engaged in the development of computer software in connection with violations by a railway carrier regarding its contractual obligations to develop a centralised storage of technological regulatory and reference information.

In addition, Yury has experience in advising on issues related to the judicial protection of rights and legitimate interests in the field of inheritance, housing, family, labour and other relations.

Yury graduated from the School of Law of St. Petersburg State University and has also received a master's degree in Economics from the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design.

He has been admitted to the St. Petersburg Bar Association since 2008.
