The Russian Government has begun preparing a draft law to amend the Federal Law “On Insolvency (Bankruptcy)” among other Russian legislative acts (the “Draft Law”). This Draft Law will have a strong regulatory effect on businesses and has already received mixed reactions from the various parties involved in bankruptcy proceedings.

Attorneys of the Litigation Practice at EPAM have successfully represented the state-owned enterprise Morsvyazsputnik, the only Russian supplier of INMARSAT satellite communications services, in a contractual dispute with Glonass North-West. The associates are now to represent Morsvyazsputnik against the company in compulsory liquidation proceedings.
