EPAM held a corporate retreat for partners and senior associates in Miami, Florida

During the traditional Russian May holidays AB EPAM held a corporate retreat for partners and senior associates in Miami, Florida. Russian lawyers visited U.S. federal court in Miami where they had an opportunity to observe jury selection process in a civil case. Russian lawyers also observed a cross-examination by defense counsel and prosecutor in a criminal case involving the “Cuban Mafia”. The delegation then visited the renowned law firm of Boise Schiller which specializes in complex litigation (one of its cases is Bush v. Gore). American lawyers shared their experience in law firm management, client services and organization. EPA&P lawyers also visited a law firm’s client, Franklin Templeton, which manages mutual funds with total assets in excess of $500 Billion. Russian lawyers observed the operation of the trading floor as well as the functions of the compliance and law departments.

In their free time the delegation members took full advantage of the tropical seaside climate and managed to attend a basketball playoff game between Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls. Being grateful for the Miami hospitality the Russian lawyers rooted for Miami Heat which won the game.
