EPAM advises Lagarderе on the sale of its Russian media assets

EPAM together with leading French law firm Bredin Prat advised Lagarderе, France’s largest media group, on the sale of its Russian media unit.

European Media Group (EMG), wholly owned by French Lagarderе, was sold to a number of Russian private investors. The deal was valued at $ 162 million.

Lagarderе was represented by Societe Generale. EPAM’ M&A and Corporate Practice led by Partner Mikhail Kazantsev acted as a legal advisor in this transaction. The project team included Senior Associates Andrey Mashkovtsev and Anna Ivanova.

Lagarderе is the largest French media group operating in almost 40 countries. In Russia Lagarderе’s assets included radio stations Europa Plus, Retro FM, Radio 7, Keks FM, Svezheye Radio. The company is also engaged in radio and Internet advertisement sales. In 2010, the Russian Radio business generated revenues of EUR 43 million.
