Ilya Nikiforov to Teach International Arbitration Course at St Petersburg State University
Starting 14 February 2025, the Faculty of Law at St Petersburg State University (SPbU) will launch a lecture course titled «International Commercial Contracts and Arbitration». The course will be taught by Ilya Nikiforov, Managing Partner and Co-Head of the International Arbitration and Litigation Practice at EPAM Law.
This original lecture course, offered by the Department of Civil Law, is a unique academic track within SPbU’s curriculum. The course will provide students with a broad overview of international commercial arbitration, including the structure and operation of arbitral institutions, regulatory frameworks both domestic and international, key legal concepts, procedural nuances, and the roles and opportunities available to participants.
Ilya Nikiforov has been teaching at SPbU’s Faculty of Law for more than 20 years and serves on the advisory board of the university’s Legal Practice and Advocacy academic programme. He is co-author of a commentary on the Civil Code of the Russian Federation and of the textbook «International Commercial Arbitration», as well as the author of the monograph «UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules 2010: A Workbook», among numerous other publications.
