The title of the Forum will be ‘Improving legislation relating to Russian and international arbitration procedures: modern standards and the approaches of leading arbitration centres’. The event will be held with the support of EPAM. Ilya Nikiforov, Managing Partner of the St. Petersburg Law Office of the Firm, will give a presentation at the Forum.

This year's Forum is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the development of arbitration in modern Russia, the 10th anniversary of the Federal Law ‘On Arbitration Courts in the Russian Federation’, as well as the anniversaries of several of Russia’s leading arbitration centres. The organizers of the conference include the Supreme Arbitration (Commercial) Court of the Russian Federation, the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library, the St. Petersburg State University School of Law, the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian Centre of Assistance to Arbitration Proceedings, the Independent Arbitration Chamber, the Editorial Board of Arbitration journal, and the Expert Council of the Arbitration Association.

The main objective of the conference is to examine proposals to improve legislation on arbitration procedures and international commercial arbitration, and to develop recommendations to incorporate these proposals into existing legislation. The event will also highlight the achievements of some of the leading arbitration centres. The event will bring together representatives from state courts, the legal community, government organizations, and business and arbitration associations.

Ilya Nikiforov will give a presentation on the first day of the event at a session on ‘Current issues in arbitration and interaction with state courts. The main issues in arbitration reform’.
