Attorneys Ilya Nikiforov and Nikolay Averchenko from Law Offices EPAM contributed to Volume III of Civil Law Textbook released by VELBI publishing house.
The final release of the three volume set Civil Law edited by Doctor of Laws Professor A.P.Sergeyev covers the issues of action for remedies, intellectual property, family and succession law. In addition to the introduction to the current regulations the textbook offers detailed description of the doctrine, including a number of views of the issues raised and application of the civil regulations.
Ilya Nikiforov, a Managing Partner at the Saint Petersburg office of EPAM contributed the chapter Remedies in Succession, in which he determined the concept of remedies in succession, offered an overview of notary’s and executor’s role in succession process and gave a detailed description of remedies in succession.
Nikolay Averchenko, EPAM’s senior lawyer, Candidate of Laws, contributed two sections to the Textbook, General Comments On the Will and Elements of the Will. In General Comments on the Will he offered a legal definition of the will, described the contractual aspects of the will and outlined the privileged nature of the will. Elements of the Will covers general aspects of testamentary prescription, essence of bequests subject to heir’s obligation to provide a third party beneficiary or a charity, describes the power to appoint alternative heirs, an institute which emerged as part of the Roman law.
The textbook is designed for students and postgraduates of law institutes and schools, teachers, researchers and practitioners. It may also be useful to anyone interested in the civil law.
It is to be noted that lawyers of the Law Offices EPAM had contributed to Volumes I and II of the three-volume Textbook on Civil Law, released in 2008.
