On 13 - 15 October 2008, the workshop on “Due Diligence in Russia: Current Issues of Practice” was held in Moscow. Nikolay Averchenko, a senior lawyer of EPAM, made a presentation on the topic of “Current Issues of Practice and Procedure of Legal Due Diligence”.
The purpose of the workshop was to share the experiences amongst the experts in legal, tax, marketing and financial due diligence. The reporters included attorneys and partners of prominent law firms, heads of legal departments of the lead Russian companies, top managers of consulting groups, strategic and crisis management consultants, experts of the Independent Directors Association.
Nikolay Averchenko presented on the topic of “Current Issues of Practice and Procedure of Legal Due Diligence”, in the “Focus on Legal Due Diligence” session. Nikolay talked about Russian aspects of due diligence, largely covered DD reports and offered a review of the procedures for the preparation of advice on completion of/withdrawal from an M&A transaction in light of legal risks.
