The European Law Firm of the Year nominee, EPAM attended The 10th Legal Business Awards ceremony in London.

Tonight London hosted The 10th Legal Business Awards. Hailed as “The Oscars of the Legal Industry”, the event celebrates the achievement of the leading lawyers around the world. Attended by more than 1200 industry experts from all around the world, it was unquestionably the biggest night of the year for the legal profession. Nominated for The European Law Firm of the Year EPAM attended the ceremony.

A panel of judges formed by the industry’s leading journalists, key market influencers and opinion formers, chose the best firms and lawyers in the world, having based their decision on the merits and achievements of the firms and individuals over the year. The European Law Firm of the Year focuses on the national practices of independent local firms, as well as domestic affiliates of international law firms. EPA&P has been the only Russian firm to be nominated for Legal Business European Law Firm of the Year award.

The European Law Firm of the Year nomination is a much-deserved recognition for the firm and tops off a phenomenal year of the often ground-breaking work EPA&P has done representing its Russian and international clients in areas like capital markets, M&A, litigation, tax and finance, as well as for its involvement in numerous high-profile cross-border transactions.

“It is a great honor and privilege for us to be nominated for such an award and to be the first Russian firm to be acknowledged amongst the international legal elite. We are proud to show that there is a viable case for developing a professional legal sector in Russia that can compete alongside international law firms”, said Dmitry Afanasiev, member of the Partners’ Committee of EPA&P and head of EPA&P delegation at the ceremony.

Earlier this year The Lawyer magazine included Dmitry Afanasiev in the list of ’World Shakers of the legal profession’ and named him as one of the lawyers ‘who will help shape 2007’.
