EPAM to Sponsor the White Nights International Legal Forum
EPAM will sponsor the White Nights International Legal Forum organised by LegalStudies.RU. The event will take place in St Petersburg from 28 – 30 May, 2010.
The Forum will allow local counsel, corporate lawyers, executives of national and foreign companies, lawyers, government officials and court officials to discuss current issues including law enforcement and legal industry trends.
The key topics are:
• Corporate ethics of handling corruption: legal control over transparency and clarity of proceedings and transactions
• Legal support to the investment and business community in the North West region of Russia: real estate, agriculture and financial sector
• Representation of business clients in the Russian Constitutional Court
• Competition protection to manage crisis
• De-criminalization of the economy and preventing development of “white collar” crime lawyers - lawyers managing criminal legal risks within businesses.
• Models for legal cooperation in complex legal projects
• Client representation in international arbitration
• Ways of improving efficiency and performances of law firms
• Building and developing a law firm brand
The delegates will also discuss the draft interjurisdictional voluntary ethical and professional principles of legal practice in the CIS, developed by a number of experts following the International Bar Association conference Law Firm Management at the request of the CIS Local Counsel Forum.
The Forum agenda includes an Open Day, a number of events held by law firms and other participating organisations open to the general public. EPAM will hold an open meeting of attorneys-at-law and lawyers from the North West Federal District titled Nationwide Professional Networking in Arbitrazh Litigation at its offices on May 30 from 11:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. at 22-24, Nevsky Prospekt, suite 132. Admission is free and not subject to registration for the Forum.
