Dmitry Stepanov Speaks at the Conference «30 Years of the Civil Code»
On 16 December 2024, the Congress Centre of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TPP RF) hosted the academic and practical conference «30 Years of the Civil Code», organised by the Presidential Council for the Codification and Improvement of Civil Legislation and the Research Centre for Private Law.
The conference focused on examining the original ideas embedded in the principles, institutions, and provisions of the Civil Code, as well as their contemporary meanings—shaped not only by the jurisprudence of the highest courts but also by the contributions of the next generation of scholars to the development ofthe civil law doctrine.
The event brought together representatives of the State Duma, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, judicial professionals, and leading Russian and international civil law scholars, alongside practising lawyers.
Dmitry Stepanov, Partner at EPAM Law, Head of the Corporate Law Department at the S.S. Alekseev Research Centre for Private Law under the President of the Russian Federation, and PhD in Law, delivered a presentation on: «The Civil Code and the Competitiveness of Russian Corporate Law».
