EPAM at VI BRICS International Competition Conference 2019
On September 16-19 2019, Moscow will host VI BRICS International Competition Conference 2019, which is a key event in the field of competition policy of the BRICS countries. This event acts as an international platform facilitating the discussion on the state of competition policy and legislation in the BRICS countries at a senior level, as well as developing a world-class, coordinated approach for their improvement. Member of the Partners' Committee of EPAM Dimitry Afanasiev and Competition Law Practice Counsel Denis Gavrilov will participate in the event.
The first day’s program will include discussions on competition issues in important consumer markets of BRICS countries including the food and beverage, automotive, digital, and pharmaceutical sectors.
Plenaries and sessions of the second day will cover such topics as:
- Development of competition policy and legislation in the BRICS countries.
- State participation in the economy.
- Development of competition in the digital age.
- Tools of cooperation in considering global mergers.
- Competition and public procurement.
Dimitry Afanasiev is to speak at the third plenary session where the participants will consider key issues related to the development of competition and the improvement of antimonopoly laws in the digital economy.
On the fourth day of the conference Denis Gavrilov is to participate in a session entitled ‘Tools of cooperation in considering global mergers’.
Since 2009, the Conference has been held on a biennial basis and is a major international forum for BRICS Competition Authorities. In 2019 Moscow will for the second time receive delegations from all over the world. This year's Conference motto is “10 years of cooperation between the BRICS Competition Authorities: results and prospects”.
