Dimitry Afanasiev to Speak at the IBA Annual Conference 2016 in Washington

On 18-23 September 2016, the International Bar Association (IBA) will hold its Annual Conference 2016 in Washington D.C., USA. Dimitry Afanasiev, Chairman of EPAM will speak at the event.

The conference will provide the impressive range of sessions put on by IBA committees, which gives first-hand information on legal developments in every sector of law. As usual it will attract outstanding speakers, including many opinion leaders who are focused on the improvement of the administration of justice in their home countries and around the world. This year the event will gather more than 6000 delegates.

Dimitry Afanasiev to speak at the session Identifying and Realising the Business Development Value Contained in Networks and Alliances run by the IBA Law Firm Management Committee. The discussion will be held on September 19 from 16:15 till 17:30.

The second session Intersection: Business, Politics and the Legal Profession will be also held on September 19 and will focus is on representing business interests and case study. This diverse panel of private-practice lawyers, in-house counsel, politicians, government staff, lobbyists and public interest advocates will tell it like it is – how legal skills and training are used to advance and reconcile their constituencies’ often divergent objectives. The panellists – in two sessions – will engage each other and the audience in wide-ranging give-and-take discussions of what determines who wins or loses or just survives to fight another day when government approval and ongoing oversight are key to the success of commercial endeavours. The heightened political atmosphere of the US elections, which will then be in full swing, will no doubt add a special contemporary dimension.
