Alexey Rizhkin Takes Part in Public Hearings on Issues Preventing Enterprise Development in St. Petersburg

Public hearings organised by the Office of the Business Rights Commissioner were held today in St. Petersburg. Alexey Rizhkin, Senior Associate in White Collar Crime Practice at EPAM, attended the conference.

Alexey Rizhkin participated in the discussion “The problem of law enforcement by internal affairs authorities in the initiation and carrying through of administrative cases against business entities”, held as part of a roundtable event entitled “Respecting entrepreneurs’ rights in organising and conducting inspections of their activities”.

The following topics were on the agenda:

  • Administrative barriers that inhibit the development of small businesses and ways to overcome them
  • Problems and trends in St. Petersburg’s industrial development
  • Investment climate in St. Petersburg: problems and outlook

These public hearings are held every year to discuss the current issues facing those engaged in entrepreneurial activities and to develop proposals for addressing them. The results of the discussion are reflected in the report issued by the Business Rights Commissioner for the President of the Russian Federation.
