Litigation and WCC teams at EPAM successfully defended the interests of Allianz Insurance against a group of fraudulent lawyers who filed claims against the company for over 1 billion rubles.

In 2014 and 2015 Allianz received 40 lawsuits under agricultural insurance contracts. A group of lawyers filed claims using false documents: assignment of rights of claim under expired crop insurance contracts were signed or completely forged with former clients of Allianz. The claims under the contracts were previously settled in full or never existed at all. The group operated inter alia in the Krasnodar Territory, Volgograd and Nizhny Novgorod Regions.

Thanks to the developed defense strategy, it was possible to appeal court decisions in favor of the plaintiffs, and inform the relevant authorities and  judicial bodies about the actions of the fraudsters. As a result, the Firm's legal team was able to expose a large-scale fraud scheme in the agricultural sector and secure a termination court order for most of the fraudulent claims.
