On 8 February 2013 Ilya Nikiforov, Managing Partner of St. Petersburg Law Office of EPAM, was appointed as a Councillor of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) European Users’ Council for a three-year period.
The London Court of International Arbitration is one of the world’s leading institutions for resolving international commercial disputes. It offers a full range of arbitration services worldwide. The LCIA regulations can be applied to any legal system, in any of the world’s major languages.
The European Users’ Council, created by the Court to support its overseas activity, is key to the LCIA’s work in Europe, meeting the needs of the European business community. Council members may be commercial organizations, trade bodies and legal firms, as well as independent lawyers, mediators, experts, academics, and business leaders that have shown a genuine interest in international commercial arbitration or in finding alternative solutions to disputes.
Ilya Nikiforov has joined a host of other important names in international arbitration on the Council: President Dr Wolfgang Peter (Switzerland); Vice-Presidents Andrew Clarke (UK), Professor Dr Andreas Reiner (Austria), and Dr Klaus Sachs (Germany); and Councillors Alexis Mourre (France), Constantine Partasides (France), Peter Rees QC (UK), and Klaus Reichert (Ireland).
