EPAM held a round-table on the eve of The Lawyer European Awards. As London continues to see a high volume of litigation coming from Russia and the CIS, and a large number of investors continue to pursue their interests in the region, Robin Wittering, Head of International M&A Projects Practice at EPAM, has chosen to focus the discussion around current Russian litigation trends, such as a preference for High Court Jurisdiction clauses over arbitration, deoffshorisation and deal structuring in Russia, reflecting the on-going changes to Russian law.
The round table was attended by:
- Terence Mowschenson, QC, Wilberforce Chambers
- Pavel Klimov, General Counsel, Unisys
- Paul Stanley, QC, Essex Court
- David Nayler, Head of UK Legal, AON
- Professor Loukas Mistelis, Director, School of International Arbitration, Queen Mary, University of London
- Shane Gleghorn, Partner, Litigation, Taylor Wessing
- Clare Wardle, Group General Counsel, Kingfisher Plc
- Rosalynde Harrison, General Counsel, Monsoon Accessorize
- Toby Robinson, Partner, Litigation, Travers Smith
- Michael Swainston, QC, Brick Court Chambers
The round-table was chaired by Joanne Harris, the Special Reports and Europe editor of the Lawyer, who will be providing the editorial for the discussion shortly.
This was an engaging 90 minute discussion that gave examples of the most recent and ground-breaking work that EPAM have been involved in.
