St. Petersburg, June 21, 2010 – EPAM together with Hong Kong Stock Exchange today conducted a joint seminar on the Russian companies’ entry into Asian capital markets. The presentation was attended by Lawrence Fok, Executive Vice President and Head of HKEx Issuer Marketing Division, as well as Alexey Andrusenko and Vladimir Lobastov, lawyers from EPAM. The organizational support to the event was provided by St. Petersburg Property Fund, Russo-British Chamber of Commerce, and Delovaya Rossiya, a Russian national charity, whilst the Vedomosti newspaper was the event’s media partner.

Lawrence Fok, Executive Vice President of Hong Kong Stock Exchange, spoke on opportunities to raise capital at HKEx: “By floating their shares at Hong Kong Stock Exchange, companies are given access to a diversified database of investors that includes not only Hong Kong funds and individuals, but also investors from US, Europe, and China with a strong appetite and a great deal of money to invest. In recent years Hong Kong has become the center for raw materials companies listing, and we are working to create a good environment to engage new companies from that industry”.
Alexey Andrusenko, head of IPO Practice at EPAM Law, shared his experience of advising Russian companies listing at HKEx and particulars of legal procedures and the role of a legal counsel both at the initial stage of an IPO and in the course of listing.
Vladimir Lobastov, head of investment practice of EPAM, acted as the seminar’s moderator.
The event attendees also included directors of St. Petersburg enterprises, representatives of investment departments from major Russian and international banks, auditors and consultancy companies.
