EPAM, the largest CIS law firm, announced the winner of the Belarusian National Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup 2013 International Law Moot Court Competition.  For the fourth year in a row, EPAM serves as the National Administrator of the Belarusian Rounds of the Competition.

Belarusian National Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup 2013 International Law Moot Court Competition were held in Minsk on February 8-9, 2013 under the support of the Faculty of International Relations of the Belarusian State University.

The team from the InternationalUniversity“MITSO”, Belarusian Institute of Law and BrestStateUniversitynamed after A.S. Pushkin took part in the Belarusian National Rounds.

The team from theInternationalUniversity“MITSO” won the title of Belarusian National Champion and will representBelarusat the International Rounds inWashington,D.C.,USA.

The level of participants' knowledge was evaluated by Managing Partner of EPAM (Minsk) Dennis Turovets, as well as by the Minsk office associate Maryia Yahorava, lecturers of the Faculty of International Relations of the Belarusian State University, representatives of the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, representatives of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, EAEC’s Court of Justice and associates of other Belarusian law firms.

Dennis Turovets, being a permanent judge for oral National Rounds in Belarus for three years already, has marked the debut of the Belarusian Institute of Law and the high level of its students as well as significant progress of the teams.

Under the judges’ opinion, the list of participants of this year once again shows the positive tendency of growing interest to this prestigious competition of students.

Participation in the competition provides an opportunity for students who are interested in international law, to bring out their full potential, and gives them a chance to present their school and try their hand at the international round of the competition inWashington.
