On June 18, 2019 a meeting of the Commission on International Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Russia) was held in Moscow to elect the Chairman of the ICC Russia Commission on Arbitration. Dmitry Dyakin, Partner and Co-Head of the Litigation and Arbitration Practice at EPAM, was elected to this position by a majority vote.
“I thank my colleagues, members of the Commission on Arbitration for their support and for the honor to be elected Chairman of ICC Russia Commission on Arbitration. My special thanks go to Tatiana Monaghan, Secretary General of the ICC Russia, and Vladimir Khvaley who has been head of the Commission on Arbitration for 10 years and built a solid foundation for ICC’s successful work in Russia. Among first priority tasks, I consider it important to continue working to improve the image of ICA ICC as an institution open for Russian users, to promote ICC Arbitration Rules, involve more active participants from Russia in the institution’s activities. During the next three years, the Commission is to engage in active work, and I am sure that we will achieve these goals, acting together as a team,” says Dmitry Dyakin.
* ICC Russia Commission on International Arbitration, or Commission on Arbitration, was established in 2000 upon the initiative of members of the Russian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce – the World Business Organization, and is a sectoral expert commission of ICC Russia. The Commission’s objectives are to enhance the development and wider application of relevant mechanisms of commercial arbitration, as well as to promote business dispute resolution in Russia in accordance with ICC rules.
