Dimitry Afanasiev, Chairman of EPAM participated at The UK International Financial Services Forum which was held in London on 20-22 September 2010.
The event which was organized by City & Financial in association with TheCityUK’s Overseas Promotion Committee, and with the support of UK Trade and Investment, The City of London Corporation and British Expertise was attended by leading industry experts and senior decision makers in the financial services worldwide to discuss the key challenges facing the future of the industry.
Dimitry Afanasiev participated in the panel discussion alongside other panelists such as Sir Thomas Harris, Vice Chairman of Standard Chartered Capital Markets Limited, Lionel Barber Editor of the Financial Times and Dr Andrew Sentance, External Member of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee, discussing the economic and other drivers behind the growth in international financial services business and financial centres.
During the session, Dimitry expressed his opinion on the subject from an international perspective and highlighted key issues in taxation, immigration, legislature, industry and foreign policy which if improved will help London maintain its competitiveness.
