Aleksey Andrusenko, Head of IPO Practice at EPAM participated at the VI All-Russian IPO Congress held in Moscow on 15 October 2010.
The congress, held annually since 2005, is the first and major event in Russia that focuses on IPOs.
The event was attended by over 180 delegates, including representatives of government authorities, issuing companies, companies involved in the initial public offering process, and leading analysts, who have discussed the prospects of increased investor demand for Russian securities following the signs of economic recovery. The focus was particularly on principles of fund-raising on the Russian stock market and foreign stock exchanges.
The key topic at the congress was ‘resetting’ of IPO market and the entire finance sector in Russia. The participants were optimistic about the prospects of Russian IPOs following the indications that number of IPOs carried out in 2010 has reached the peak levels for 2007.
Aleksey Andrusenko delivered a speech on the subject of ‘IPO Oriental Style: Russian Legal Consultant’s Prospective’ during the ‘Choosing a Consultant: Organizers, Underwriters, Lawyers, IR’ session, which focused on key issues of preparing a company for an IPO and the criteria of selecting an adviser.
