EPAM litigation team defended FGUP Morsvyazsputnik, the only Russian provider of Inmarsat satellite services, in disputes with a mala fide counterparty.
For several years, FGUP Morsvyazsputnik had provided Inmarsat satellite and international inter-ship radio communication services to the Turkish Palmali Gemicilik ve Acentelik A.S. Since 2019, the counterparty has encountered financial issues and stopped paying for the services. As a result of the default on the obligations, Palmali Gemicilik ve Acentelik A.S. accumulated a multi-million debt to the Russian company.
EPAM attorneys represented FGUP Morsvyazsputnik in a series of disputes related to the Turkish company’s failure to perform the obligations under the executed agreements. Attorneys of the Frim developed a strategy that enabled FGUP Morsvyazsputnik to have all of its claims satisfied and to fully recover the debt from the counterparty, as well as the incurred legal costs.
The client was represented by EPAM’s litigation team, including Counsel Evgeny Gurchenko and Associate Yulia Sevostyanova, led by Managing Partner of the St. Petersburg Office Ivan Smirnov.
