EPAM is pleased to announce the promotion of a number of senior associates in its Russian offices. Effective as of January 1, 2015 Evgeny Bolshakov, Maria Kobanenko, Alina Kudriavtseva, Vladimir Pestrikov, Mark Rovinskiy and Pavel Sadovsky were appointed as counsel in the Moscow office. Elena Agaeva and Elena Legashova have become counsel in St. Petersburg.
Pavel Sadovsky (Head of Intellectual Property / TMT Practice, Moscow) specialises in the enforcement of intellectual property rights, transactional IP and data protection, and laws and regulations specific to the TMT sector. Being a registered trademark attorney, he is admitted to represent clients before the Russian PTO. Pavel joined the Firm in 2011 as a Senior Associate following the merger with Magisters, where he led a similar practice. He is recommended as a leading IP expert by all the core legal directories. Pavel holds a Law degree from the State University - Higher School of Economics and a PhD in Law from the Russian State Institute of Intellectual Property. He is a co-organizer and co-chairman of the Russian IT Lawyers Discussion Club, a Vice-Chairman of the ICC Russia Commission on Intellectual Property and a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA).
Mark Rovinskiy (Tax Practice, Moscow) specialises in tax law with a strong focus on transfer pricing, international taxation and tax controversy. Having extensive experience in the area of tax he successfully supports M&A transactions and large international investment projects in the field of trade, construction, insurance and pharmacy. Mark's track record in tax dispute resolution includes successful representation of major Russian and international enterprises in the heavy industry, automotive, manufacturing, IT, real estate and trade. Prior to joining EPAM at the beginning of 2010, Mark was a Senior Associate in the Tax Department of an international auditing firm. Mark is a member of the Russian Chamber of Tax Advisers, European Fiscal Association and Confédération Fiscal Européenne. He graduated from the Law School of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
Vladimir Pestrikov (Litigation Practice, Moscow) focuses on resolution of corporate and commercial disputes, handles complex litigation, including that involving foreign entities and cross-jurisdictional matters as well as provides support in non-domestic litigation where he advises on Russian law. Vladimir is also an expert in international commercial arbitration, and is engaged in arbitrations under the rules of various institutions, in the proceedings to acknowledge and enforce foreign court decisions and arbitration awards in the Russian Federation. His recent landmark project is defending the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation under enforcement against the Russian assets previously held by the family of the billionaire Sean Quinn. Prior to joining EPAM, Vladimir was part of the International Arbitration and Litigation team at Magisters. Vladimir graduated from the Moscow State Institute for International Relations (University) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (MGIMO). He also studied law at the Philipps-Universität Marburg.
Alina Kudriavtseva (Litigation Practice, Moscow) has over 15 years’ experience in the legal profession. She represents clients in civil and administrative disputes in Russian courts including those in the areas of investment, real estate, corporate and competition law. She also has impressive experience in protection of the clients’ honour, dignity and business reputation. Before joining the Firm in 2010, Alina worked in another Russian law firm. Alina graduated from the Moscow State Social University Law School with honors in 2000.
Evgeny Bolshakov (Competition Law Practice, Moscow) represents clients’ interests in antimonopoly cases before the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (the FAS Russia) as well as contests various decisions of the FAS Russia in courts. He also has impressive experience in distribution business schemes, due diligence of antimonopoly law and trade law violations. Evgeny has 13 years of legal practice. He joined EPAM in 2007 and from then on became involved in a number of multiple competition law cases. Evgeny is a member of Non-Profit Partnership for Competition Support. Maria Kobanenko (Competition Law Practice, Moscow) advises and represents clients before the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia and Russian courts. Maria has expertise in antitrust regulation of state procurement, in 2014 she successfully implemented the landmark project to support Pfizer in antitrust proceedings related to vaccine procurement under the National Vaccination Schedule. She has extensive experience of being engaged in resolution of disputes related to concerted actions, the commodity market domineering business entities’ actions, as well as other antitrust disputes. She graduated with honours from Saratov State Law Academy and is currently doing her Master's in economics at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. Maria is accredited by the Ministry of Justice as an independent expert on anti-corruption expertise regulations.
Elena Agaeva (Head of M&A and Corporate Practice, St. Petersburg) provides legal support across a broad array of corporate law issues, including M&A deals, establishing, closing, and reorganizing businesses, hiring and dismissing employees, recruiting foreign workers, carrying out due diligence, and general support on corporate and employment issues.
