Georgian claims of racial discrimination by the Russia Federation were dismissed by the International Court of Justice in the Hague at the beginning of this month. ICJ judges found by a majority ruling that Georgia had failed to hold mandatory negotiations with Russia regarding the allegations – which related to the August 2008 conflict with South Ossetia – prior to appealing to the court. The Russian government was represented by Eugene Raschevsky, head of international arbitration at leading Moscow –based law firm EPAM.
