EPAM Law Session at RIAC 2025 | Parallel Proceedings in the New Reality: Challenges, Approaches, Strategies

The growing complexity of international disputes has brought parallel proceedings to the forefront of arbitration practice, raising significant challenges in terms of strategy, coordination, and enforceability. This session will explore both practical and legal approaches to managing the risks associated with concurrent arbitral and court proceedings across multiple jurisdictions.

Key discussion points will include:

  • The role of domestic courts in supporting the arbitral process and safeguarding the enforceability of awards.
  • Anti-suit injunctions (ASI): where is the line between legitimate jurisdictional protection and undue interference with the authority of foreign forums?
  • Procedural tools in multi-party arbitration: assessing their effectiveness in mitigating the risks of parallel proceedings.
  • Mitigating the risk of conflicting judgments in non-consolidated proceedings.
  • Emerging trends in managing parallel proceedings: evolving approaches in arbitration laws and cases.

Among confirmed speakers – representatives of leading arbitral institutions such as SIAC, HKIAC, and IIAC, as well as experts of International Arbitration and Litigation practice at EPAM Law.

This is a must-attend session for arbitration practitioners, in-house counsel, and institutional representatives seeking to share experiences in managing parallel proceedings and mitigating associated risks.
