St Petersburg hosted the Incoterms® 2010 International Conference: New ICC Rules for the Use of Domestic and International Trade Terms in collaboration with EPAM Law.
In September 2010, The International Chamber of Commerce – the world business organization (ICC) - announced the release of a new version of Incoterms® 2010 Rules. The official English-Russian edition came onto the market at the end of October 2010. The new edition of Incoterms® 2010 accurately reflects commercial trade practices of the recent decade and contains a number of innovations. The new Incoterms® 2010 Rules took effect on 1 January 2010.
During the conference leading experts in the area of foreign economic relations and lawyers majoring in foreign trade and commercial dispute resolution discussed practical issues of applying Incoterms® 2010, including key features of and amendments to the new rules, correlation of the rules with contracts and insurance, applicability of the rules in customs procedures, determining basic terms of delivery in a commercial contract and other relevant issues.
Mr. Lauri Railas, one of the developers of the rules and a member of the Incoterms® 2010 Drafting Group, LL.M., LL.D. was one of the speakers along with Ms. N.G. Vilkova, Professor of the Russian Foreign Trade Academy, LL.D., and a member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, as well as representatives of the Russian Customs Academy.
