Elena Agaeva, Head of Personal Data Protection Practice and St. Petersburg M&A and Corporate Law Practice, and Alexey Karchiomov, Head of Maritime Shipping / Transport Law Practice, Co-Head of International Trade and Customs Law Practice, have been promoted to Partners.
Elena Agaeva, Attorney, has been providing legal support across a broad array of corporate, contract and employment law issues for more than 25 years. She also heads the Personal Data Protection Practice and advises international and domestic companies on matters of applying Russian laws to personal data, including in relation to data collection, localisation and processing. Elena is a member of the Competence Centre of the Federal Supervision Agency in the “Personal Data” section. Major international law firm directories such as Chambers Europe, The Legal 500, Best Lawyers, as well as the Russian legal rankings Pravo.ru-300 and Kommersant, have praised her distinguished professionalism. This year Elena celebrates 25 years of being part of the Firm’s team.
Alexey Karchiomov, Attorney, is an expert focused on maritime and transport law, as well as foreign economic activity support. He advises clients on a wide range of issues associated with the engagement in international trade, issues relating to technical, foreign exchange regulation and export control, and defends clients before state authorities and in commercial courts. He is the author of Duties of Passenger Ship Crews in Emergency Situations. Since 2012, Alexey has been a regional expert for the International Maritime Organization in the field of maritime safety. In 2023, Alexey was included in the associated list of arbitrators of the Arbitration Centre at the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) and joined the Arbitration Centre panel for transport disputes. He is recommended by the leading international rankings The Legal 500, Chambers Europe and Best Lawyers and the Russian Pravo.ru-300 and Kommersant.
