On November 11-14 2019 The Law Society of England and Wales and The Bar Council of England and Wales will host ‘English Law Week’ in Russia. Dmitry Dyakin, Partner and Co-Head of Litigation Practice at Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners, will speak at the event.
English Law Week is supported by the British Embassy in Moscow, the Russian Federal Chamber of Lawyers, the Moscow Bar Association, the St. Petersburg Chamber of Advocates, the Anglo-Russian Law Association, and the British Russian Law Association. English Law Week is a biennial event traditionally held in Moscow and St. Petersburg in rotation with Russian Law Week in London which takes place in the alternating years. English Law Week provides a unique opportunity for English legal practitioners to meet with Russian counterparts, to share expertise and develop international business relationships.
Dmitry Dyakin will participate in the session held on the first day of the conference in St. Petersburg. The discussion will be an Oxford union debate on the topic: “English law remains the most popular law for business transactions involving Russian parties due to the flexibility that it offers when the transactions are created and the certainty that it offers in disputes, should these arise”.
